Rookfell the Prideful was one of the seven Grand Devils ruling over Hellion Territory. Following Belphegor's demise, he was slain by the vampire Oluit.
Appearance[]
A mighty devil with enormous horns, Rookfell is a towering bestial figure with the head of a lion and six arms. In combat he carries four different weapons, holding each in one hand. His arsenal consists of a longsword, club, battle axe, and spear.
Personality[]
As one of the Grand Devils who embody the Seven Deadly Sins, Rookfell the Prideful is arrogance personified, being both proud of his strength and scornful of others. This defining aspect of his character makes him unwilling, or perhaps unable, to bow his head to another regardless of the situation. He considers humans to be insects and enjoys slaughtering the weak for amusement. After losing a painfully one-sided battle to the Oluit, Rookfell allowed the vampire to drink his blood for the sole purpose of luring him in for a final strike.
Plot[]
After the death of Belphegor, Rookfell is approached by Oluit, their meeting resulting in a destructive battle that lays waste to the Grand Devil's Castle. Despite being unable to prevail against the empowered vampire, Rookfell dismisses his opponent as a lowly creature subsisting off of the blood of others and refuses to yield his territory. Oluit replies that he has no interest in land, instead desiring to absorb the proud demon's abilities by drinking his blood. The Grand Devil savagely attacks his opponent, who instantly recovers from the onslaught in seconds. Rookfell silently acknowledges his inability to harm the enemy and questions where Oluit attained such power. While the vampire refuses to answer, he admits a desire to fight a dragon, prompting the Grand Devil to laugh before offering up his blood. When Oluit begins to drain his blood, the defeated warrior fruitlessly wraps his lion jaws around the vampire's neck in one last act of defiance. Rookfell proclaims that he stands undefeated and will devour the vampire from within, the Grand Devil's body shriveling up and crumbling into dust moments later. Oluit muses that his opponent was prideful till the end before departing the scene.
